Nathan Lowman's Story


From the moment I first picked up a violin, I knew I had found my passion.

As a student at The Music School of Delaware from 4th grade through high school, I learned to listen deeply and intentionally, to delve into what I was hearing, and to understand the importance of 100% concentration. This skill has become invaluable in every aspect of my life, helping me tackle challenges with unwavering focus.

I am profoundly grateful.

The people and programs at The Music School of Delaware laid the foundation for my success. My sister (pictured left), a high school junior, also benefits from the school’s programs, participating as oboist in the Delaware Orchestral and Chamber Music Institute (DOCMI) this summer, Delaware Youth Symphony Orchestra (DYSO), and private lessons. I returned to volunteer at DOCMI, eager to give back and support the next generation of musicians, and to perform with my sister!

We must ensure this wonderful institution continues to thrive.

From the front desk to the personalized attention from faculty during lessons, rehearsals and performances, The Music School of Delaware provides a nurturing environment for students. I want the Music School to keep fostering this love of music and provide a safe space for learning, exploration, and collaboration.
